Why does a writer need to have some tried and tested tricks up his or her sleeve? They become very useful when such a writer hit a writing drought due to writer blocks even though not all people acknowledge that they exist.

Not planning is planning to fail. Plan the time to write and stick by your plan.

Nothing starts perfect. Why cross a bridge before you reach it. Criticize when you are done writing.

Step by step approach is the way to go. Writing in manageable chunks is this approach. Learn to give you brain downtime to get creative .for example you cannot write all your Christmas notes and birthday cards all at once they need number of days to get done.

Do you reward yourself when writing? How about when you stick to your deadlines? A simple reward like a 10 minute coffee break after writing say 2 letters in 45 minutes would be a great reward and motivator before continuing on to another project. This trick can work very well in writing.

What are the feelings of the recipients? What impression does my potential employer get? What about that person I care about how does this make them feel? Remembering why you are writing makes you to Cleary express yourself.

A lot of people suffer some form of writer’s block some points in their lives and the reasons for that are very many. But fear, anxiety and worries about saying wrong things can accelerate frustrations for the blocks.

Swimming always clear my mind and put in a creative writing atmosphere. What about you? How do you relax? Is it a simple meditation or physical exercise that does it? It does not matter how but relaxing is the final tip to clearing writers block.

Blog articles have to be quite short in order to attract as many online readers as possible. These articles usually contain 300-400 words and many bloggers use this tactic in order to be very appreciated in his field.

But blog articles, being that short have some disadvantages. Blog writers are not able to go deeply in any subject and they have to discuss very superficial.

This is why bloggers choose to discuss only about a single domain. But the articles are still somehow random. This can be problematic especially for aspiring gardeners. They usually have to know the botanical concepts a little more deeply and a blog is not usually that helpful.

Search engine optimization is very important because every blogger wants its article to be found as easy as possible. But this means that a certain keyword is used multiple times and the blog article usually becomes just an addition of words. The information can’t be delivered properly in this way. And the saddest part is that more and more bloggers are going on this road.

Books have many advantages over blogs because they don’t need to use keywords repeatedly because they are immune to search engines. The writer can deliver the information very easy this way. It doesn’t matter how many words are used in a book so the subject can be treated deeply.

A book is also more special than a blog because it has certain warmth. When you read a book you can revive all those simple times when urban life wasn’t that stressful.

Another advantage of a book is that you can take it and read it anywhere. You don’t have to worry about low battery, a bad internet connection or ruining your eyes due to radiation.

Computers have become very accessible nowadays and more and more people prefer to do all the work with the help of the computer. But you have to try some things in the old fashioned way and you will see that they can be better.

Besides blogging, this writer also frequently shares knowledge about six figures and acne free in 3 days review.

Mystery is what motivates readers to constantly read a writers book. A writer who is able to write books that gets the readers to think what is happening and go on guessing on what will happen next encourages them to be glued in your book since it encourages them to want to know more and more of what is going to happen.

If you are able to create your story to be inexplicable, then you will sure catch the readers mind and encourage him to read more and more of your books.

If you also make the character so something intriguing it will also capture the attention of the readers, let’s say for example an old woman keeps two boyfriend to herself and does not tell any of the boyfriends that there is another partner in the relationship until she gets caught.

Or have people in the doing felonious things only to be discovered that the people who are supposed to maintain law and order who are the police, are responsible for all this, or even a faithful neighbor who has always been trusted in the neighborhood being the one breaking into people’s houses and stealing people’s things in the name of raising money for his poor dad.

It is not necessarily that you allow the bad guy in the book to always play the bad roles instead, you can also provide a good role that he plays, say a kidnapper falls in love with the victim and they get to be the best of friends despite the outrage all over him.

If it is the old people, the society expects him/her to rest yet in the book you can give her an active role to play, a role that you think should be played by the youth.

Let’s say for example the grandma loves to visit the beaches and lie out in a bikini, or the grandma loves to watch pornographic materials and sh visits a cinema that shows this only to be caught red handed doing this.

Whatever that you write in your book matters a lot if the reader will be coming back for more or that is the last edition of your book he is reading. So ensure that you give the reader what he deserves so that you can have him coming back for more.

Good writing skills can earn you good grades and offer you a lot of opportunities at school and at work. From time to time, you need to develop your writing skills for you to land a job after school. It is of great importance that you know how to write well.

Have the winning attitude of wanting to learn new things. Condition your brain to open up to new ideas that will help you cope up with a new set of skills that you can master.

Find a writer’s group near you and join them. This group will consist of writers who have experience over the years and have what it takes to help you boost your writing abilities. Get to know them very well and submit yourself to their training.

Try to write daily. The more you put your hands to work the more better it will become. Get a diary or a blog running for you to be able to write everyday. There are a lot of things to write about.

There is only so much you can do with writing but it also has its limits. For you to get better, you will have to pick up a book and read. Moreso, you will be able to get some ideas on how you can write better too.

In writing, you need to learn the skill and you need someone to teach it to you. Get yourself in a writing class and learn from there. You will be able to get so many information about how you can write better.

Writing is not all about how you play with your words alongside your creativity. It is all about perfection. And perfection means having correct grammar and spelling. Always check your work for errors.

It will take a lot of time and effort for you to succeed in writing but if you work on it on a daily basis, you will reach a point where you feel you are good enough to write your own novel.

If you are in the finishing stages of writing your book, then it is important for you at this juncture to do some research on online marketing of your book through social media sites. This way you can increase the visibility and publicity of your book and reach wider audience.

If you just give it a thought for a moment you will realizes the millions of people are connected on the social media sites and imagine you’re getting accesses to such large group of audience at once.

However to be able to get into online marketing, you have a lot of homework to do and to understand how it works. Then with a definitive approach and by following a certain process you should start implementing your marketing plans.

Your first task would be to create a page for your book and use this powerful tool of social media sites for book promotion.

How well you develop your page will hold the key to generating traffic to your page. Apart from a brief introduction to your book as well as about yourself, it helps to reproduce some part of the actual book so that the viewers get a first hand feel of what the book looks like and its contents. Definitely then they will be tempted to revisit your site and thus the traffic gets built up in no time.

When people begin to visit your page, encourage them to leave their view points and opinions and start responding to them. When you begin discussions like this, soon you will find that a group begins to form and more and more people join in with their comments. Thus through word of mouth more and more people start getting to know about your book.

What better platform can you get to announce your schedule of sales promotion events at various locations? This can help more and more people to come and attend in person when it happens in their city.

What better platform can you get to promote your book to a worldwide audience? It has never been this exciting ever before.

eBooks have been the newest addition to our technological culture. They have changed the way we read books and even the way they are published. eBook software or readers such as the Nook and the Kindle have also become popular additions to our technological culture.

eBooks and eReaders are the newest thing to hit our technologically advanced society. The Oxford Dictionary of English describes the eBook as “an electronic version of a printed book.” Most eBooks are in fact digital text copies of a printed book, however more digital copies are appearing in society and are available only as digital copies.

The first eBooks available on the Internet were technical manuals. With the widespread expansion of the Internet in the 90s, eBooks advanced from electronic manuals to actual digital copies of fiction and non-fiction pieces. Since technology and the Internet is still so new to us as a society, oftentimes we are unsure on how to handle it, or what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

Even public libraries began offering free eBooks to their visitors and members in 1998. By 2003, most libraries were offering free eBooks on their websites. Furthermore, by 2010, 66% of libraries in the U.S. were offering eBooks.

eBook sales have gone through the roof after the release of the popular eReaders: Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes and Noble’s Nook, and Apple’s iPad. In 2010, more eBook copies were sold than standard hardcover copies for the first time ever. Amazon sold 140 eBooks per 100 hardcover copies. In 2010, the American Publishing Association reported that 8.5% of sales were eBooks.

On the other hand, eBooks and eReaders have caused some problems among authors and publishers. Authors and publishers today fight for royalties and for fair revenue. With the wide expansion of available eBooks on the Internet, there has been little to no control for publishers to set a fair price. There have also been distribution and copyright concerns.

These new technologies have vastly affected society and that includes our schools. Children in school today now rely on technology to learn. Publishers today are trying to stay ahead of the game by offering electronic and digital educational materials to schools in place of textbooks. For example, Pearson Education, the largest international publisher, offers educational media components that accompany textbooks to help with the cost. Also, Pearson also has a custom publishing division that works with K-12 schools and organizations and even higher educational institutions such as colleges and universities with their materials. Pearson will design custom print textbooks or media components at a reduced cost.

eBooks and eReader software has directly affected our society, like any other piece of technology. They have changed the way we read books, the way we purchase books, and even the way we learn. eBooks will most likely continue to evolve, but its very likely publishers will have more control over the price and legality of the distribution.

It looks certain that, when the sales returns are totted up at the end of the year, 2010 will prove to have been another record breaking year for the Kindle reader. Despite the premature rumors of the Kindle’s imminent demise as a result of the release of Apple’s iPad, Amazon’s top selling ebook reader just seems to go from strength to strength.

Even without the inclusion of a color screen, the launch of the Kindle 3 in the autumn of 2010 opened the gap between the Kindle and the chasing pack even further. In addition to a host of technical upgrades, including increased memory (enough for up to 3,500 titles), a better contrast display and a smaller and lighter case, Amazon introduced a WiFi only entry level model.

With a retail price of just $ 139, the WiFi only Kindle is less than a third of the price of the entry level iPad. Even the WiFi plus 3G model – priced at $ 189 – is still considerably cheaper than the base iPad model. The fact that there are no monthly connection fees associated with the Kindle is another big selling point.

Another key feature of the Kindle has always been the huge selection of Kindle books available for download from the Amazon website. At this time, there are more than 750,000 Kindle books available on Amazon’s Kindle store. In addition to the paid Kindle books, there are currently a further 1.8 million out of copyright titles – including many classics – which are available for free download.

One of the things that many prospective e-book reader buyers seem to fret over is that they will be “tied” to their reader. They feel that having bought a lot of e-books in a particular format, they will be unable to transfer their books should they wish to switch to another e-book reader later.

This issue has been dealt with very well by Amazon who have made a host of free apps available to enable readers to enjoy Kindle books on a variety of different devices. Currently, there are free Kindle apps for the PC, the Mac, the iPad, the iPhone, the Blackberry smart phone, the Windows phone and any device which uses the Android operating system. It’s a clever strategy on Amazon’s part. Not only does it overcome the concerns regarding the transfer of books, but each of these apps effectively acts as another retail outlet for Kindle books. It’s estimated that approximately 20% of Kindle book sales are made using non-Kindle hardware. That percentage will probably continue to grow in future.

As improbable as it may have appeared at certain points throughout the year, 2010 has seen the Kindle reinforce its market dominance even more. The only credible competition to the Kindle comes from a tablet computer which costs more than three times as much as the Kindle – and that tells a story in itself. It will be interesting to see what 2011 brings for the e-book reader market in general – and the Kindle in particular.

The Christmas sales season is a very important time for any retailer. As much as 40% of annual sales returns can be achieved in the few weeks leading up to Christmas. For Amazon, the 2009 Christmas period was an extremely important period, for a variety of reasons over and above the normal sales surge.

Amazon’s Kindle 2.0 reader, which launched in February of 2009, and which had already proven to be a hugely successful product for Amazon, became the online retail giant’s most gifted, most wished for product ever and – most important of all – Amazon’s number one selling item. It has held the position of number one selling product on the Amazon website ever since.

On Christmas day 2009 itself, for the first time ever, Amazon sold more Kindle books than they did physical books. Almost certainly, this would have been heavily influenced by those lucky people who got a Kindle for Christmas testing their Kindles by logging on and downloading one or two Kindle books. Many of these would almost certainly have been free Kindle books (there are 1.8 million of these to choose from).

Nevertheless, it was still a landmark moment for Amazon and a sign of things to come. Currently, Amazon regularly sells more Kindle books than hardback books – by a factor of 1.8 to 1. It looks like it will be no more than a matter of time before Kindle book sales outstrip paperback sales as well.

In the autumn of 2010, Amazon unveiled their updated Kindle 3 reader. There were a variety of technical improvements – including extra memory (enough space for 3,500 Kindle books), an improved e-ink technology screen with better contrast and a smaller and lighter casing. Amazon also unveiled their new, base level Wi-Fi only Kindle – which sells for just $ 139. For another $ 50 you can get hold of the Wi-Fi plus 3G model – which is still way cheaper than the original $ 359 launch price of the Kindle 2.0.

With a $ 139 entry level price the Kindle is pretty close to being an impulse buy for many. You could pay considerably more for something such as a mid level mp3 player or mobile phone!

Despite the launch of the Apple iPad – widely hailed as a “Kindle Killer” – the Kindle 3 quickly became the fastest selling Kindle to date. Demand far exceeded supply and customers had to join a waiting list to get their Kindles delivered – up to five weeks later at one point.

The Kindle was already the market’s top selling e-book reader. The release of the improved Kindle 3 opened the gap between Amazon’s reader and the chasing pack even further. The fact that the Kindle’s only credible competition comes in the shape of a tablet computer which costs more than three times as much as the Kindle speaks volumes.

Amazon won’t be counting their chickens before they’re hatched – but they must surely be expecting their new, improved Kindle to deliver another set of record breaking sales returns this Christmas. It will be interesting to see if (when) Kindle stocks run out once again in the run up to Christmas. Customers are limited to a maximum of three Kindles each right now – a clear indication of Amazon’s confidence in their number one reader. It looks like the Kindle is going to be a big hit for Amazon over the Christmas 2010 season once more.

Discover the Kindle 3 for yourself. It’s the future of reading – you can even download free books for your Kindle – direct from the Amazon Kindle store!

According to the Association of American Publishers, sales of e-books increased by 183% during the first half of 2010 in comparison with the same period of 2009. It was predicted that 11 million US citizens would own some form of digital reading device by the close of September 2010.

It appears that e-book readers are encouraging people to read more. Owners of the Amazon Kindle reader are reported to buy 3.3 times more books after they buy their Kindle than they did prior to having their own reader.

Amazon is, without a doubt, the biggest e-book seller at the moment. They have in excess of 700,000 Kindle books for sale on their website – and there are a further 1.8 million books that can be downloaded for free due to the fact that they are now out of copyright. Amazon has, rather cleverly, made a whole variety of free apps available for a number of different devices which allow users to read Kindle books without the requirement for a Kindle reader. This could conceivably impact upon Kindle reader hardware sales – but Amazon are clearly happy to accept this in order to secure sales of Kindle books.

E-book reader sales really sky rocketed in 2009 – driven largely by the release of the Amazon Kindle 2.0 in February of that year. They are still a niche product and are just beginning to spread beyond early adopters. Recent price reductions, in response to the release of the Apple iPad which can, amongst numerous other things, be used as an e-book reader, have helped to make e-book readers more appealing to prospective customers.

The Kindle became Amazon’s most gifted item ever during the festive season of 2009. Right now, it’s the number one selling product on Amazon’s website – a position it seems set to hold on to for some time to come. The launch of the third generation Kindle at the start of August has been a good response to the iPad – and the Kindle is now selling faster than ever.

The public has become used to the concept of e-books now. For the moment it appears as if there is enough room in the market for both the specialism of the Kindle and the iPad’s versatility. It remains to be seen whether this will continue, or if there might be a move to more versatile e-book readers when Amazon eventually develop color e-ink technology displays. However, the e-book genie looks to be well and truly out of the bottle and the future will only see more and more e-books being sold.

A key factor in the huge success of Amazon’s Kindle reader has undoubtedly been the massive number of Kindle titles on offer for consumers to choose from. Currently, Kindle owners can take their pick from more than 725,000 paid titles. Amazon also offer 1.8 million out of copyright books which can be downloaded to the Kindle free of charge.

In addition to making plenty of reading material available for Kindle owners, Amazon has also gone out of its way to make it easy to read Kindle books without a Kindle reader. This has been achieved by the release of a number of free Kindle apps which allow Kindle books to be read on a variety of different devices.

Currently, there are free Kindle apps for the Windows PC, the Apple Mac, any device which runs the Android Operating System, the iPhone, the iPad and the Blackberry smart phone. It almost seems as if Amazon is its own competitor at first glance – but the fact is that all of these free apps are very effective retail outlets for Kindle books.

Amazon has announced that Kindle owners will be able to lend each other Kindle books in the near future. Amazon has not confirmed the exact date – but it should start prior to the year end.

Users will be able to lend books that they’ve purchased to family and friends for a fourteen day period. The “borrower” will be able to read the book on their Kindle – just as if it was one of their own books. Whilst the book is on loan, the original purchaser will be unable to access it. Just the same as real book in point of fact.

Not all books will be lendable. The ultimate decision as to whether or not books may be loaned rests with the publishers. It will be interesting to see if the publishing houses react differently to this.

Amazon has also advised that all of the devices for which free Kindle apps exist, will soon have support for newspapers and magazines as well as Kindle books. First to be activated will be the Apple devices, followed by desktop applications and Android devices (of which ever more are being made available).

Over the last year and a half or so, the ebook reader and ebook market has really taken off. Although the ebook market is still developing and is in an early stage, the public already seems to have grown accustomed to ebooks. Amazon’s latest development brings ebooks ever closer to the full functionality of traditional, printed books. Ebooks can now be considered to be pretty much interchangeable with traditional books – apart from the fact that you can’t mark the pages with a dog-ear. It’s a big step forward for both ebook readers and ebooks readers, and it’s one which can only will help them to become ever more widely accepted by the public.
