Mont Blanc is a company that is popular for being a high end brand name. They have a huge variety of products from pens to watches. One of the well known product is Mont Blanc pen refills. These kinds of items are specially designed for the Mont Blanc ball point pens.

Among the main difficulties that the retailer encounters has always been replication. A lot of under developed nations mass produce replicas along with replicates of the high-end items. Thus it is extremely crucial to look at the details of the product before you purchase them.

One of many main features which you will need to look at on Mont Blanc pen refills is their logo design. Their logo is a ‘White Star’ commonly referred to as a bird splat. It’s got 6 corners as opposed to replicates which might portray the logo using a 5 cornered star. wheb buying refills you’ll need to confirm that the logo is on the product in order to avoid shopping for a look-alike.

You’ll find Mont Blanc products quoted on a number of internet sites. Self-sufficient retailers buy the products and catalog them in an try to market them all through many options. When you are buying the product online then you need to take care of product duplication. Besides the logo you may also check for the certificate of authenticity on the product. If the seller includes this as a part of the offer then one can be sure that the unit is authentic.

Whenever shopping on the net check out for internet sites which offer totally free shipment on your products seeing that it is the simplest to reduce the price of the product. As it is a high end brand many online retailers provide free shipping in combination with huge discounts on the product.

Mont blanc’s Pen refills are available in variety of colours. If any dealer gives you you any other colors you can judge their authenticity.

If you are not an avid online shopper then simply you can buy a product at any of the shops. Here you usually do not have to bear duplication of any sort. At a retail store a person will be able to purchase the refills at convenience and test them in the pen before making a purchase.

Purchase the items during the festive season for the reason that you’re definite to find good discounts on the product. Black Friday could be the ideal day to purchase top end goods as you can acquire these at beneficial discounts. If you’re thinking about buying products from this specific companylike a holiday getaway gift idea then it is the best day to have most of the purchasing done.

the cost price of a pen can vary from $7 to $70 subject to the category of refill you’re picking along with the pen that you are using it in. the prices may be different if you’re buying the item through the net as most of the products are listed by independent merchants or third party vendor firm

To be invited to a baby shower could really be exciting. You really don’t want to buy an expensive gift that is not within your budget. Just because you don’t have the extra money doesn’t mean you can’t go. There is truly a variety of gift suggestions that are low-priced. It will seem that you are giving them expensive gifts.

1. Consider the baby’s growth when you purchase clothes. Chances are everybody will buy clothes with sizes for a newborn so dont do that. It is better to buy apparel for a 12-month old. And since its nearing the end of the season, you could buy them on sale. As a result, you had a bargain in buying your present.

2. You could choose to buy unique gifts if you are the type. A hand-print and a footprint plaster kit as well as a baby photo album are a couple of terrific ideas. You could make a variety of picture frames as well. These are great gift ideas that are within the budget. The parents will certainly adore them as they likewise serve as reminders.

3. If the mother-to-be is somehow related to you and she is having a few baby showers then perhaps you could partake in all of them. Perhaps you can take photographs in every occasion and arrange them in a scrapbook for her. This could be a fabulous gift suggestion that is easy on the pocket.

4. If you would rather give a gift that is educational, the perfect pick is children’s books. It is advisable to buy board books because babies put anything in their mouths. Actually, any childrens book would be great particularly those that have rhymes. Classic story books like Pinocchio for boys and The Little Mermaid for girls are also educational. There are book that can help as well if you have questions on bridal shower invitations, baby shower centerpieces and baby shower cake ideas .

5. One more fine suggestion is a tub loaded with baby stuff. Try not to spend more than twenty dollars. Basically, you purchase a baby tub and load it with baby items. Buy practical stuff that the new mom might have forgotten to register for. Great suggestions would be diaper rash cream, diaper wipes, baby lotion, baby oil and baby wash.

6. An umbrella stroller is one thing a mom would find very useful. This would be helpful once the baby begins to sit up. You could pay less than fifteen dollars for one.

7. Teeny toys for babies are great educational gift choices. Since you can learn every day of your life, the parents and the babies could benefit from these. These would definitely help them in the process. They are practical to have at home and in the carry-along bags. Since they are normally low-priced, you could probably buy a couple and still have enough money to spare.

8. It is always practical to give a big pack of diapers. Of course the mom would be astonished! You may check the internet or read the newspaper to be assured that you find a bargain.

As discussed, there a lot of baby shower gift suggestions that are within your budget. Thus, don’t feel that you must turn down the invite or go without a present. With a baby about to be delivered, all kinds of gifts will truly be appreciated.

The organisers of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held in Las Vegas have, for the first time ever, designated a specific area for e-book readers.

The organisers of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held in Las Vegas have, for the first time ever, designated a specific area for e-book readers. This makes perfect sense, there are a minimum of two dozen different manufacturers displaying their readers at this year’s show.

The increased level of awareness, both on the part of electronics manufacturers and the public, is quite understandable. 2009 was a great year for e-book readers and all the signs seem to point to 2010 being even more successful.

A great deal of the credit for this must be given to Amazon’s Kindle reader. The Kindle 2.0 launch in February, followed by the launch of the larger DX in June, created a tidal wave of publicity for e-book readers as a whole and, of course, for the Kindle reader in particular.

The Kindle quickly went on to become Amazon’s number one selling product and, during the festive season of 2009, the Kindle became Amazon’s most gifted product ever. Sales of Kindle books made up 35% of all book sales (where a Kindle edition existed). On Christmas day 2009, for the first time ever, Amazon sold more Kindle books than traditional books.

At the close of 2009. the market for e-book readers had been clearly established. Currently, Amazon enjoys a 60% market share with Sony trailing in second place with 35%. Of course, there are many electronics manufacturers casting an envious eye over the success of both Amazon and Sony and who now want their slice of the pie. They could face a difficult challenge, considering Amazon’s dominance. However, the market is still in a very early stage of development and massive growth seems likely, even in the short term. The right product could rewrite the rules overnight.

Manufacturers of consumer electronics hardware are far from the only companies who have a vested interest in the continued expansion of the market for e-book readers. Independent manufacturers of various different accessories – screen protectors, covers, clip on reading lights (e-book reader displays are not back-lit), chargers, etc. – will also benefit from this brand new market which only recently came into being. Most accessories are targeted at the Kindle at the moment, but as new readers emerge and start to make sales then accessories for these will also be supplied.

2010 will be a big year for both e-book readers and e-books. The 2011 Consumer Electronics shows will also have a separate e-book reader section – but it may be somewhat increased in size compared with this year.

Check out the Amazon Kindle reader – and don’t forget you can save a lot of money by getting free Kindle books – straight from the Amazon website.

Whilst they may be the hot gadget of the moment, it’s worth noting that e-book readers have been available for quite a while. In 1999, the Franklin eBookman was launched (generally held to be the first example of a dedicated electronic book reader). Sony’s PRS reader launched in 2006 and, in 2007, the original Amazon Kindle was released.

However, it wasn’t until 2009 that e-book readers really took off in a big way. With absolutely no disrespect to Sony, much of the credit for this has to go to Amazon. The launch of the Kindle 2.0 in February 2009 backed up by the release of the larger DX reader in June caused quite a stir and established e-book readers as the hot gadget of the year. The Kindle quickly became Amazon’s number one selling product and was the most gifted Amazon item ever over the 2009 festive period. Both Sony and Barnes and Noble had released new readers in time for the Christmas season, but uncertainty about delivery in time for Xmas, coupled with the Kindle’s already established dominance meant that Amazon swept the boards.

At the moment there is no shortage of readers to choose from. The list of companies who are developing their own e-book readers is both long impressive. For the first time ever, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas in January 2010, had a separate section dedicated to e-book readers. All the signs are there that 2010 is going to be an even more successful year for e-book readers and we can probably expect to see sales continuing to grow rapidly.

It is effectively a brand new market sector which didn’t exist, at least not in any meaningful way, until very recently. Apart from the companies who manufacture e-book readers, there are implications for publishers, educational institutions, independent suppliers and of course, the reading public.

The sudden emergence of this market segment has been good news for companies such as M-Edge who manufacture a wide range of Kindle accessories including covers, reading lights, chargers and so on. There are plenty of other accessory suppliers who are also benefiting. At the moment, there is a strong focus on accessories for the Kindle, but as the market expands and other readers gain in popularity these will also offer good opportunities to the independents.

The e-book reader market is still nascent. It is growing and developing at an incredible rate. Amazon has been instrumental in the development of the market to date and enjoys a 60% share of the American market as a result. Their dominance will be strongly challenged in 2010, as will Sony’s current second place (with a 35% market share). However, this new market offers plenty of opportunity for companies with the vision and innovative skills to establish themselves at this early stage.

2009 was the year that e-book readers became hot news. Amazon released both the Kindle 2.0 and the Kindle DX, which created quite a bit of publicity for e-book readers in general and the Kindle reader in particular. Companies like Sony and Barnes and Noble responded with their own readers – the Daily Edition and The Nook – whilst others, such as Apple and Microsoft worked hard to develop their own offerings for release in the near future.

It is very easy, and perfectly understandable, when dealing with what are essentially consumer electronics devices, to focus on the technical aspects of the hardware involved. The Amazon Kindle has wireless connectivity, the Nook has a color screen, Sony’s Daily Edition lets you lend books to your friends – and so on.

However, it may be worth considering that e-book readers may very possibly be the biggest thing to happen to reading – and publishing – since the invention of the printing press by Gutenberg in 1440. The invention of the printing press allowed books to be mass produced on paper instead of parchment or vellum. It reduced the cost of books and, quite literally, put them in the hands of the common man.

There have been very few changes in the way that we read books since then. Of course, there have been advances in printing technology, computers and word processing have made the already existing process more efficient. Nevertheless, the end result has been pretty consistent – we read books which consist of paper bound between retaining covers with text printed upon it.

As a consequence of the end product, publishers had certain restrictions. They have been producing a physical product for years, which carries some level of cost and also needs to be delivered, either to a bookshop or possibly by direct mail to the customer’s home.

The difference with e-book readers is that they do not simply offer a way of carrying out the existing process more efficiently. They totally rewrite the rules – both for the publishers and the readers. There is no physical product which means that fewer materials are consumed. No ink, paper, chemicals, bindings etc. are required. There are also serious savings in the cost of delivery.

What this means is that not only do e-books cost less to publish and deliver, but they are – even when taking the materials used in the production of the e-book reader devices into account – less harmful to the environment.

Publishers now have more possibilities for marketing both books and authors. If a publisher wished to highlight a particular author for example, then they could offer samples of their work either at very low prices or completely free. Another technique, which is rapidly growing in popularity, is to offer the first volume in a series free, in the expectation that the reader may go on to buy subsequent books in the series or other books by the same author.

On the Amazon website there are a large number of free Kindle books on offer. Other Kindle books on the site generally have the first chapter available as a free download. Prospective readers can try before they buy. This may well encourage readers to experiment a little and try new authors that they might otherwise have overlooked.

The strong focus on the new, sexy, hardware is perfectly understandable. However, in the longer term it will be the increased marketing opportunities and the ease of access afforded to readers that will make the difference in the way books are both published and read in the not too distant future.

Learn more about the Amazon Kindle reader and find out how you can save money by downloading free Kindle books straight from Amazon’s Kindle store.

Ebook readers attracted a great deal of publicity in 2009 – and none more so than Amazon’s Kindle. The first ebook reader – generally held to be the Franklin eBookman – was released in 1999, over a decade ago, but it was only in 2009 that public interest was sparked.

Without diminishing the contribution of Sony in any way, it’s probably accurate to say that Amazon deserve a lot of the credit for this. The February launch of the Kindle 2.0, followed by the DX in June, seemed to put ebook readers in the spotlight. The launch of Amazon’s original Kindle in November of 2007 hadn’t provoked anything like the buzz of either the Kindle 2.0 or the DX – so what is different now?

Until very recently the Kindle was the only reader to include wireless connectivity. This was also a feature of the original Kindle – so it seems to be an unlikely explanation for the increased interest in ebook readers during 2009. The Kindle 2.0 was undoubtedly easier on the eye than the original Kindle. In addition to that, the selection of Kindle books available had risen to 240,000 by the time the Kindle 2.0 was released. By the end of 2009 there were almost 400,000 titles to choose from on Amazon’s Kindle store – which meant that new titles were being added at an average rate of 500 a day.

Of course, it might just be the fact that the public have had enough time to grow accustomed to electronic books. Whatever the reason, it does appear that the time is right for ebook readers.

Ebook readers are portable devices which let you read ebooks – electronic or digital books. Reading ebooks has been possible for a long time of course, simply by using a PC, or maybe even an iPod. The big difference between reading on a PC monitor and an ebook reader is that the PC monitor uses a backlit LCD display. After a while this can cause you eyestrain. Ebook readers use eInk technology which is much closer to reading text typed on conventional paper – they are not backlit.

Without going too far into the technical aspects, eInk displays consist of thousands of tiny spheres, each of which contains both black and white charged particle suspended in a liquid. The spheres are sandwiched between a transparent screen and electrical conductors. Passing the correct polarity of electrical current through the conductors causes either the black or white particles to be positioned next to the transparent screen in such a way as to form letters.

E-Ink displays only require power when “writing” the page. Once the particles have been properly positioned they will stay in place without any further power being required. E-Ink technology is not only better for your eye tan a PC monitor, it requires considerably less power to operate. Battery life is extended – which is perfect for a mobile device.

At the moment, there is a long list of companies with ebook readers in development. Increased competition will produce lower prices and, while 2009 may well be remembered as the year that ebook readers took off, 2010 could see them becoming part of the mainstream consumer electronics market. They may be as commonplace as iPods or mobile phones by the end of the year.

There are those who say that, when the Amazon Kindle launched in November 2007, it had little to no competition. That seems to be a little harsh on the Sony PRS reader, which was a perfectly decent reader in its day (Sony have now released upgraded models). The fact is that the Kindle offered significant user benefits which had not been previously seen in ebook readers up to that point in time. Wireless connectivity – with no monthly fee, was a big bonus as was Amazon’s large selection of titles available for the Kindle.

Amazon released the upgraded Kindle 2 in February of 2009, which featured quicker page turns, increased storage capacity, extended battery life and was slimmer, lighter and better looking than the original Kindle. In June 2009, they followed up with the Kindle DX, which was basically a large display version of the Kindle 2 – which incorporated native pdf file handling capabilities and had an accelerometer to auto rotate the display when the reader was laid on its side.

Since these two latest Kindles were launched, there has been a marked increase in the ebook reader marketplace competition level. Sony now offers a whole new range of readers and Barnes and Noble have entered the market with their Nook reader. Other companies, such as Apple, Microsoft, Asus and Plastic Logic, also have their own readers currently in the development process. A lot of these new readers offer, or will offer, features which beat the Kindle. If the success of the Kindle was ever genuinely the result of a lack of competition, then that is certainly not the case today.

Amazon has certainly responded to the new challengers. The price of the Kindle 2 has dropped by $ 100 to $ 259 since its launch. There have been firmware updates which have increased battery life, extended the duration prior to entering screen saver mode, introduced native pdf handling for the Kindle 2 etc. Audio menus to assist blind users are being introduced and Kindle “Apps” for the iPhone and the PC have been introduced. The Kindle 2 was also launched on the international market, where Amazon will doubtless be hoping to achieve the same 60% market share that it currently enjoys in the USA.

A lot of these changes do seem to have been a reaction to the competition’s activity, which is a little out of character for Amazon. It doesn’t seem likely that they have run out of ideas for the Kindle, which is now Amazon’s top selling product – so when can we expect to see the next major upgrade, and what might that involve?

The inclusion of some kind of touch screen control functionality must surely be top of the list when new features are being considered. A large number of the new readers include this and it appears to be a feature which is valued by end users. A color display would also be something that a lot of users would value. However, it seems improbable, given the current state of the technology, that this could be made available in a cost effective manner for the next generation Kindle. It would certainly be a huge coup for Amazon if they did it – so let’s not rule it out completely.

Other, less hardware-centric, changes may also be in the offing. Many of Amazon’s competitors are adopting the ePub format for publishing ebooks. Currently, Amazon use a proprietary format which means that, aside from using apps with your PC or iPod, Kindle books can only be read on the Kindle reader. The ability to transfer ebooks from one reader to another, regardless of the readers brand, will be a consideration in future. People will want to be able to treat ebooks just as they do “real”, paper books – and that includes lending them to their friends and family when they’re done.

As far as when the next generation Kindle, the Kindle 4 for want of a better name, might launch, you would have to suspect sometime in 2010 – and probably the first half of the year. The market is new and is changing and developing rapidly. It is also growing at an incredible rate. Having established themselves as the top dog, Amazon will not allow their competition to overtake them now.

The performance of Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader family in 2009 must have delighted the internet retail giant. February saw the launch of the Kindle 2.0 and the large display Kindle DX followed hard on its heels in June. In a very short time, the Kindle became Amazon’s best selling product – and that accolade was achieved even before the Kindle 2.0 saw its worldwide launch in October.

By the end of 2009’s festive season, the Kindle had become Amazon’s “most gifted” product ever and, on Christmas day, Amazon sold more Kindle books than they did traditional printed volumes. That may very well have been due to all those lucky people who had found a Kindle under their tree on Christmas morning. In all probability, having opened their gift and got the Kindle out of the box, new owners would want to try out their new reader. That would probably have involved connecting to the Amazon website and downloading a Kindle book or two.

Even so, for Kindle books to outsell traditional books is still a noteworthy achievement. Although some may feel that this came about in a slightly artificial manner, in reality it just underlines the eminent suitability of the Kindle to Amazon’s overall business model.

Of course, Amazon’s competition have been closely following and monitoring their success and putting measures in place to ensure that they too can obtain a share of the nascent market for e-book readers. The list of competitors who are in the process of developing their own new e-book readers is both lengthy and impressive. Samsung, Apple, Microsoft and Sony are just some of the big names who will be going head to head with Amazon in 2010. Barnes and Noble have also launched their own e-book reader – the Nook – and must be considered as a serious player due to their well established book selling pedigree.

Many of the next generation of e-book readers will incorporate features which will make the current Kindle offerings look out of date. Color displays, touch screen functionality and the adoption of a standard e-book reader format which will allow e-books to be transferred across different readers, or even borrowed from digital libraries, are just a few of the options that users can anticipate.

One thing’s for sure, Amazon won’t sit on their hands while the competition muscles in to the market which Amazon has labored so hard to create. The current Kindle family members, as innovative as they were only a few months ago, bear little resemblance to what e-book readers will be like in the near future. Amazon will, even now, be working hard on the development of the next enhanced version of the Kindle. No doubt they will be quietly confident and expectant of even greater success in 2010, despite the best efforts of the competition. Users of the Kindle can look forward to an upgraded and enhanced reader – probably during the first six months of the year.

We have received so many wonderful responses on the articles regarding heart jewelry that we have written in the past. We thank you so much. Today we would like to write a more generic article regarding the history of jewelry in general. “Jewelry Making” as an art form has been around for thousands of years, and we see that different cultures have incorporated it in various ways. When we examine these pieces of jewelry we gain insight into how these various cultures worked…

If we take a look at the homo sapiens in Ancient Africa we see the first signs of a culture creating jewelry. Snail shell beads have been found at Blombos Cave in South Africa that date back to 75,000+ years ago. On the other side of Africa, at Enkapune Ya Moto in Kenya, beads made from ostrich egg shells have been found that date back to 40,000+ years ago.

Egypt is known for the Great Pyramids and the Ancient Sphinx, but it has created some remarkable jewelry as well. In fact, we see the first signs of established jewelry making starting to appear here around 3,000 to 5,000 years ago. The Egyptians used many of the materials that we use to make jewelry today, such as gemstones, but glass was their preferred medium. With glass they could color it to satisfy their various tastes and needs. In fact, for every gemstone that they could find in nature, they were able to make a glass replicate of it. As time passed on, other cultures, such as the Ancient Phoenicians, used Egyptian jewelry as a template for their own unique designs.

To the Ancient Egyptians color was very important, not only for the beauty, but because it meant different things. The Egyptian Book of the Dead provides us with more details. For example, the necklace of Isis that was to be place on the neck of a mummy needed to be red in color. They believed that this red color would satisfy Isis’s need for blood. Green jewelry, on the other hand, was used to symbolize growth in the area of crops and fertility. The Egyptians made their jewelry in large workshops that were often attached to palaces and temples.

Around 4000 years ago we see jewelry development and production starting to spring up in the cities of Sumer and Akkad in Ancient Mesopotamia. This jewelry tended to be made from metal leaf, and was often set in a large number of brightly-colored stones, such as lapis, jasper, agate, and carnelian. They also incorporated various shapes, such as grapes, leafs, cones and spirals into their designs. Since the Ancient Mesopotamians were also masters in the area of record keeping, huge archives of detailed records relating to the creation and trading of jewelry have been unearthed in various archaeological sites.

We hope this little departure from our usual heart jewelry articles has been fun and educational. It’s amazing to see how jewelry making as evolved over the years.
